How to Playback Recorded Video on an EZWatch Pro DVR

This guide assumes the following;

  • The EZ Watch Pro DVR is recording
  • You have direct access to the PC DVR or that you have an active internet connection
  • You have already set up remote access to the PC DVR

To play back video when sitting in front of the DVR

Step 1

Click on the ‘Playback’ icon at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2

On the new Playback window that appears, click on the ‘Open Record’ button on the right-hand side of the screen

Step 3

The system should show a calendar in the top-left corner of the Open Record window. Dates that appear in red text have recordings; dates in black text do not. Click on the date you wish to play back.

Step 4

At the bottom of the screen you will see a grid with the numbers 0 through 24 displayed across the top. This represents the time of day. You should see a green or red line stretching across the grid; this line indicates when the camera was recording. If you have four colored lines, then you have four cameras recording.

Step 5

Click and drag your mouse over one or more of the lines to select a time to play back. The times are in 24-hour format, so to play back from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, drag the line from 6 to 18 on the grid.

Step 6

Once you have clicked-and-dragged to select the time, you will see the grid filled in during the times you selected. Click on the ‘OK’ button at the bottom of the screen. The system will search through available video clips and show them on the screen.

Start Playback!

The video starts out paused. To start playback, click the large Play button (">") to begin playback.

To play back video when using remote access with Internet Explorer

Step 1

Open internet explorer and type in the IP address of the DVR into the address bar.

Step 2

On the screen that appears click on ‘Remote Playback’

Step 3

Click on any prompts that appear to install the ActiveX Control

Step 4

Log in using your EZ Watch Pro username (the default username is "Admin") and password (no password by default)

Step 5

Click on the ‘Open Record’ button on the right-hand side of the screen.

Step 6

The system should show a calendar in the top-left corner of the Open Record window. Dates that appear in red text have recordings; dates in black text do not. Click on the date you wish to play back.

Step 7

To play back video when connect using Playback software from a remote location

Step 1

Open the playback software.

Step 2

On the new Playback window that appears, click on the ‘Open Record’ button on the right-hand side of the screen.

Step 3

The software will ask you to log in to the local machine. CANCEL this login.

Step 4

Click on the house icon on the top-left corner of the screen, above the calendar.

Step 5

Fill out the site name, address, username and password of the EZ Watch Pro system, then hit ‘Add’ to add it to the list.

Step 6

Click OK to exit the Server manager. Click on the drop-down arrow next to the house icon, and click on the server you wish to connect to.

Step 7

The system should show a calendar in the top-left corner of the Open Record window. Dates that appear in red text have recordings; dates in black text do not. Click on the date you wish to play back.
