TurboView Remote Viewing Setup Guide

This guide assumes the following:

  • You have video from your cameras
  • You have your TurboView DVR connected to a router
  • You have a PC on the same network as the TurboView that you can use to configure the remote access

Step 1

Check the IP address of your DVR by going into the Menu (Default username is "admin" and default password is "1111"). Go to the "Devices" section, and enter "Network". The network should typically be set to DHCP (Advanced Users who wish to assign a specific address to the DVR can use Static). Write down the IP address and Default Gateway.

Step 2

Go to the PC that is on the same network as the TurboView. Test the remote access by opening up Internet Explorer (Note: Not compatible with Firefox, Safari, Opera, or Google Chrome) and type in the IP address of the DVR into the address field. Install any addons it requests and it should allow you to log in with the same username and password to view your cameras.

If the test worked, then you can proceed to step 3 to configure your router. If it did not, please call technical support at 866-241-3400.

Step 3

Go to the website www.portforward.com using your internet browser. On the list of routers on the front page (Scroll down), find your router based on its make and model and click on it. On the advertisement page that appears, click on the text "Click here to skip this advertisement..." in the top-right corner.

Step 4

Click on the text "Default Guide" in the fourth paragraph of this new page. Do not scroll down to the list of programs, EZWatch Pro is not on the list.

Step 5

Follow the instructions given by the site to log into your router. When it asks you to enter the "internal IP Address" of your router, type in the Default Gateway number that you wrote down during step 1.

Step 6

Follow the directions on the site to configure Port Forwarding in your router. You will need to forward ports 80, 5920, and 5921 to the IP address of the DVR (That you wrote down in step 1). All ports are "TCP" ports.

Step 7

After your ports have been forwarded, get your public IP address by going to http://www.whatismyip.com/

Setup Complete!

You should now be able to access your cameras remotely. If using internet explorer at a remote location, simply type in the IP address you got from step 7 into the address bar of Internet Explorer.
